Sam here from Montreal, the disneyland for alcoholics and potheads.
I got me a WRXT and I have a coupla questions:
-Is the body made of basswood or alder? I've seen conflicting information on different sites. Is it different than the WRMG, aside from the pickups and inlays? (And what does MOTO stand for?) Serial number is 980575A, if that helps.
-For my first upgrade should I swap the shite Duncan Designeds? or should I go for a OFR (or Schaller, perhaps)? I'm not that big on the stock pups, then again I don't like going out of tune every time I use the whammy.
I know the WRXT's entry level but dammit I love it. I tried some higher priced Ibanez guitars, but the WRXT felt so playable and balanced, and I can upgrade it to get something decent down the line. I will probably get a sexier Jackson in the distant future.
