            The maple tops are really thin. They also have the lamest grain I've seen, sadly. If you're going to do flamed maple, get something with a more active flame to it. They look like photoflame.

              ok, so what is done on the CNC center and what is done on the bandsaw?... it looks like they are actually cutting the final shape on the bandsaw!... isn't that what shoud be done on the milling machine?...

                It looks like he's just roughing on the bandsaw - you can see quite a space between the final shape drawn on the face of the guitar and the edge that he's cutting

                            The CNC machines are most likely used to do the routing. That would make sense wouldn't it?

                              Yes .. in the case of the custom shop they also can do necks on those. I've seen pictures of Fender where they actually do the whole body contour on the machine. They actually use vacume chucks to hold the material down while they cut the outside
