Hello everyone.
A lot of you probably so pics of my CHARVEL PREDATOR at IMPORT CHARVEL, and you probably see me being confused about what KIND OF pickup DO I have in it.

I have to tell you the truth, that I was never big fan of JACKSON pickups, so I never even was interested in models of Jackson pickups and what they do, if you know , what I mean. But I have USA FUSION wit JACKSON pickups J50BC AND J200 and I loved them pickups to death, maybe because they active, I don't know.

When I got my PREDATOR, back in 1993-5, I remember I didn't like the sound of neck pickup, I wanted to change it right a way, so I couldn't of put dimarzio or duncan pickup, they wouldn't feet. So I called Jackson, now comes the funny part, I called and asked for a Jackson FULL SIZE HUMBUCKER, but in single coil version, and gave him the model of which I want j50bc pickup, he tolled me they have only j50b. I said ok, send it to me. he did, I got that pick up in my PREDATOR.

Now we know that J50BC or J50B is a unbuckle, and it is sure DOSE not look like J200.

I love the way it sounds, but I want to know what kind of pickup is it model and specs. I know only one thing, I received it from Jackson.

It should have a sticker on the bottom of it. Just pull it and see if its still there. Or according to your post. its a J50b in a single coil size humbucker. BTW whats a unbuckle?

I'm not sure what the model number is (j200R mebbe?) but that pickup was available in a couple of guitars. I have one in the neck pos. of my 550XL

That sure looks like the regular stock blade pickup that a Predator came with, so I really don't understand your story.

Well i got that guitar used, so i don't know how is original pickup looks, but it defenetly did not look like this, when i called JACKSON, I did not tell them that is for a PREDATOR.

Maybe it had the wrong pickup when you got it and they sent you what it would have came with. Even though you didn't tell them it was for a Predator you seem to have described to them (coincidentally?) the pickup that came in a Predator?

Absolutely correct. It is NOT a Jackson J200R. Those were common in the Predator, some Charvel Fusions and the Warriors of the early 90's.

I didn't know they mixed and matched pickups. I thought a guitar was either all Jackson pickups or all Armstrongs (or SD/EMG/etc). So that would mean that the Predator & 550XL, at least, had one of each. Interesting....

There weren't too many like that, (with mixed pickups) the Predator and Fusions come to mind. But they were wired in phase with eachother and had cool options if there was a JE-005 5 way switch in the mix.

I'll throw this into the mix.I had a Charvette that was the same as the predator in config and when I took it apart for cleaning I was suprised to see it had Armstrong pickups that were original to the guitar.Of course it had the funky single locking floyd rose II.
