  • Need some fusion info

What makes a fusion, well a fusion ?? How is it different from a dinky ?? Do the USA fusions have the same type of headstock logos(MOP) as the Soloist's ?

Any other opinions or comments on the fusions are welcome

My friend found a tie dye one and was wondering what it is worth.

    thx

    A Fusion is 24 3/4" scale like a gibson.

The Fusion has a 24.75" scale. It's basically a "fusion" of a Strat-type body with a Gibson scale length.

        Re: Need some fusion info

I recently ran across a used tie-dye Fusion at a shop. They were asking $1000 for it which seemed a bit spendy to me but when I went back a couple of days later to try to work a trade, it was gone. They'd had it for a while but someone finally strolled in and laid down the cash. I don't know what they're actually worth but I suspect that this is on the high side of the range.

Not all USA Jacksons had the MOP logo. Some had the regular white painted logo.

However, all production USA Fusions did have the mop logo. In fact, all USA Production guitars from 1990 until around 1995 had mop logoes. The USA exceptions in the mid 90's were the SL2's, the Dinky Reverse, and the Super Dinky and short scale models. I would guess a USA Fusion to be worth around $600. With graphics even more, especially depending on the exact graphic. When I first joined eBay in early 1999, it was not uncommon for them to climb above $1000. In fact, I personally threw down $1025 for a Bikini Beach but lost!

I had and sold a 1991 USA Fusion in Coral Sea color, I loved that guitar, but the neck was way too thin and flat for me, but I really loved the short scale for sure. If you like short scale necks and thin/flat necks, this guitar is for you. Jack.
