Mike, have you ever tried painting a plain body so it looks like quilted maple? And can you paint an ebony board so it looks like maple?

I don't think I would even touch the ebony scenario as not much likes to stick to it. That is why you will normally see the ebony bound so the finish has more durable adhesion. Ebony is high in oil content. Don't be getting any ideas bro.
