Are the 'guarded models swimming pool routed?

The SO-CAL's have a 'Universal" route. There was a tonal difference between the "Swimming Pool" route and the "Universal" Route. We chose the later on the strengths of it's attributes.

I would assume a universal rout would really be just 3 humbucker sized routs under the guard as opposed to one huge swimming pool rout. The more wood left in the better IMHO!
