Wall hanger, always, or lay it down on a safe flat surface, (like a pool table),
with neck support. Or in the case.
I don't play out, but when I did open mics, it went in the case.
I NEVER use stands anymore.
My beloved Hamer Phantom suffered a snapped headstock because of a stand.
The next day, all five of my my stands were curbside, to be thrown out.

My custom Kelly (although not a Jackson, but certainly Jackson inspired) stays in its case. Simple matter of flipping the lid and grabbing it if I want to play. Much less dangerous than leaving it on the 7-space stand waiting to get bumped or chipped.

For the most part ALL my guitars are in their cases unless being played or at a gig. That goes for collectibles and players. The case is the safest place for it to be if not being played and also collects the least amount of dust on the instrument.Rudy
