I don't play out, but when I did open mics, it went in the case.

    I NEVER use stands anymore.
My beloved Hamer Phantom suffered a snapped headstock because of a stand.
The next day, all five of my my stands were curbside, to be thrown out.

It just snapped off? Was it perhaps a suicide? This happens more often than you would believe with guitars that are forced to play the wrong kind of music. Speakers do the same thing. I blared metal for years through my speakers... one day my g/f took the car and put in Garth Brooks.... well... the speakers never quite sounded the same after that...

Anyhow, mine are all hanging from the wall. Used to keep the KV2 in the case, but damn that thing is just too bulky to whip out everytime I want to play it.

I rotate mine so usually 4 or 5 are out on stands at a time. Our baby is on the verge of walking, and it's not convenient to lock my office/guitar room, so they'll all be case-bound with maybe 1 or 2 on high wall hangers soon.

I used to keep my Rhoads Pro in the case at all times... only because its so mint. But about two weeks ago I said screw it and put it up on the wall... now I play it alot. Fuck it, it was meant to be played and its fucking godly!

I kinda have a combination of 1 and 3. I leave it in it's case but the case is laying on one of those big, cushiony chairs most of the time and is opened.

Amen! I got sick of all the individual stands and I had an acoustic that fell over and snapped the neck. Now that I am down to 6 guitars I have a 7 guitar Rockstand or whatever it is called from GC. They are all begging to be played now and they all get some playtime now because of the easy access

It depends, my USA soloist has been sleeping in the case a lot, recently, and my Pro has been on the stand. But whenever I change strings they'll both be in a case.

Well for one, I only have one case. But no, I do not as my room is small and it's a pain to deal with the case. When I go anywhere however, it's in my case. The gigbag is strictly for walking across the street to jam.

                        - Some in cases: the "I might sell 'em so don't want to hurt 'em" guitars
                        - Some on stands: my favorite daily players
                        - Some on wall hangers: because they are purty and up off the floor away from kids and pets

If I had to choose one method I'd put them all on wall hangers so I could see them and easily get to each of them.

What's the best brand/model wall hanger that won't mess with the finish of the guitar?

The good stuff stays in a case, and the beaters stay on stands. If a beater takes a dive, at least I don't have to kill anybody. Besides, the cases aren't exactly difficult to get into, ya know.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you...but it's still on the list.

I learned my lesson in the 1994 Northridge, California earthquake, my '85 Soloist was on a stand, took a hit by things falling over. Never again..now everything is safe in the case.
