i think the soloists lack of major name association comes from the fact that by the time they were released most people were using charvel strats and kramer. Although doug aldrich was using them i think and of course jeff slayer had his sl2. Can't think of anyone else tho. The guy in bang tango had one i think...... And warriors are just plain ugly and pretty much a copy of the bc rich stealth. Which we all love coz of chuck.

Phil Collen played a Soloist before he got his original sig model. Actually, if you go back and watch '80s videos, there were a LOT of Soloists being flashed around--it's just that no one in particular became strongly associated with the model.
Count me the camp of Soloist players that considers that a good thing.

Well, as I said, you don't see "major" names with the Warrior - I'm talking MegaDeth, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest, etc etc etc.
Or even popular, spotlighted, up-and-coming names like Lamb Of God, etc etc.
Yes there are tons of nobodys out there with them, but no one associates the Warrior with any of them.
How long before Ibenhad pays someone to take a signature Xiphos (poor Warrior copy)?I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

The point of this thread was not that nobody played these models, but that nobody was highly identified enough to prompt a signature model.
I've personally always associated Oz Fox with the soloist. He was the first artist that I can remember who exclusively played them (with the exception of his pointy Charvel star). They all had graphics and unique pickup layouts (single hum, dual hum, instead of h-s-s). Granted, this was back in the '80's, but Stryper eventually became a semi-high profile act. These guys were exclusive Jackson & Boogie users way before the Mustaine & Friedman's of the world. I'm sure Michael Sweet's Kelly impacted interest in that model as well.
