Ah right. So you've made those changes, but not the pickguard?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Ahhh....there it is!!! I knew there had to be one item to really send it over the edge. Everyone pay attention - make sure you specify the color of the switch tip to avoid the "artist similar" problems :ROTF:

I thought Jake's guitar had the same tuners (MOP style tune knobs) and a standard chrome strat jack plate?

I wonder if Adrian Smith will be able to get Jackson to build a copy of his stolen guitar - I mean that would be an "artist similar" guitar.

The other big differrence that couldn't be changed is that this board is ebony and Jake used rosewood...

I haven't cut the pickguards yet

This guitar came with standard black tuners, black input jack, black switch tip.
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

Since Gibson brought Kramer back from the dead a few years ago, all agreements probably went out the window. Sadly, now that they own Hamer, you know you will never see another Gibson shaped Charvel/Jackson as Hamer can fill that niche for Fender now. There is no valid business reason to.

So Hamer is allowed to build Gibby shapes? Interesting....

Fender has not owned Hamer long enough to start instituting stupid policies.

For Charvel it took about 2 years before they shut most options down.

I can't imagine they would change though. It has always been Hamer's bread and butter, plus Hamer stopped doing the super strat thing years ago. Charvel/Jackson fill that up anyway. I think it would be cool though if Fender brought back the Phantom, a Steve Stevens-based Prototype, and maybe the original Prototype as well.

People ordering Jackson custom shop guitars just like their favorite artists used was a major part of J/Cs bread and butter and they up and stopped it. Not because of anything that happened but because of perceived legal problems.

Yeah it sucks to see big corporations monopolizing but the fact is, in most cases it's the head of the companies get bought that give in. Whether it be they can't keep the company going or they give into offers fron Gibson or Fender (this happens even when companies are doing well).
