There are some great deals out there, you just have to be patient and be prepared to jump on them when they come around.

I must disagree, the early 90's King V Professional Standard bolt ons, have a super thin neck compared to the KVX and the JS series KV's.
I've owned quite a few of each and every post Fender Jackson had a thicker neck profile, I also noticed this on the Dinky guitars as well.
Other than that minute detail, to me there really is no difference.
I prefer the old bolt on's slimmer profile, but that's just me.
Some of the older ones have better wood, but some of the newer ones have better pickups.
Best thing I can say is do your homework, know what you want and shop around. I'd take a pre or post Fender J/C over anything else so it doesn't matter much to me. They are all quality insruments in my book.'Howling in shadows

thats what i'm talkin bout!! True til death.
i've never seen a dx10d pull 400+ although i havent really been lookin on ebay lately. from what i remember theres a few companies sellin em for 3 and some change NOS. sharkies are nice, but they're better bound.
edit- also if you have a body that you're happy with you could always just swap the neck out.Last edited by jdr94; 09-11-2008, 09:48 AM.

well, a completed listings search on the fleabay lists quite a few DK2's going for 300+ but well within $400. There were a couple that were listed for $300 and no one bid on them. Just set up a eBay search and it will do the work for you. But yeah, DK2T's are very hard to find used. I know I will never part with mine. Its the best guitar (in terms of feel and playability) I've laid my hands on. And I got it for $300.
Do you like DK2M's? A while ago GC was selling them for $260. I snatched up an inferno red and its one of the best decisions I've made. You can find them for cheap on the bay too. but some of them have neck-pocket issues supposedly. So be careful.

yea thats the problem with getting a neck for a guitar you own, first why sell just the neck, when most people have the bodies too,now i have parted out an old ps 6 but only because it had pickup up grades.thanks jdr already gone.I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

actually, i'm not really a big fan of dinky guitars...so i dont really know how much do they go for, but since you're looking for a guitar on the $200-300 range, you could get a nice kelly/rx10d for $300ish (100% sure abt it). or if i'm right, a dx10d also cost around that much.
or just roam around craiglist for a bit. i'm sure you'll find a deal thereOwn:
