So far, I'm in love with the Charvel. I've played enough import dinkys to know what to expect from the DK2M, but it's a really nice guitar. I have to change strings (to 10s), tighten everything down, change out the knob from hell, put straplocks on the DK2M, and just get everything adjusted to where I want it. But both were mostly in tune right off the truck. So I was able to play right away. I'll get some YouTube vids up after I do setup.
Damn right those are sweet!! Look like Twins dont they? I'm in love with those 2, you have excellent taste! Can't ever go wrong w/ Black, me like 'em black too
Is the DK2 neck thicker than the Charvel? Any other major differences or similarities between them?

I love the maple neck with the black inlays and black binding. I wish they made a V with that neck.

The Charvel neck seems a little thicker than the Jackson. Also, the Charvel neck feels more like raw wood and the Jackson feels a little smoother. Soundwise, the Charvel screams. I'm getting harmonics out of it I haven't been able to get out of a guitar in a long time. I played strats for awhile thinking they would be very similar to old-school Charvels, but I see now I was wrong. The compound neck radius on the Charvel is just as easy to play as any Jackson, but the thicker neck makes it even more comfortable ... like an old strat with a whole lot of upgrades. The pickups are nice. Of course, they both have the JB in the bridge, but the 59 in the Charvel's neck seems a bit warmer than the Jazz in the DK2M. The OFR feels more solid than the 580LP, but both work very well. Overall, both guitars are very similar, but there are plenty of subtle differences (both aesthetically and functionally) that make them two completely different guitars. Right now, I really don't know which one I like better. I guess the Charvel, because it's the first "real" one I've owned. I had a Charvel Traditional awhile back, but there's no comparison. The San Dimas is so retro and what I guess most would consider a real Charvel. I've played lots and lots of Jacksons. I've always preferred the imports over the USAs. The only USA Jackson that I owned that I really liked was a DK1. Just prefer bolt-ons I guess, which makes the imports perfect for me. Nice that they're now coming with better pickups and hardware ... almost on par with the USAs and in many cases with better options (a la DK2M).
Cool, thanks buddy that cleared up what I wanted to hear.
They seems to be similar spec wise, but the JT580 is no OFR thats for sure, but that there is fixable too eventually. Too bad the DK didnt come with a case huh?

Is that a flip-flop "camera guy" graphic? Is shows up in some of the pics, but not others. Nice axes. I'm really gassing for one of the Charvels right now.
I still keep practicing though.... Mostly because I hate my neighbors.-MakeAJazzNoiseHere
I have a Jackson SKB case on the way for the DK2M. I guess my mug showed up in a few pics 'cause I was standing right over the guitars. Shows you how shiny they are. It was overcast yesterday. I'll try to get some better pics when it's sunny.
