I think it sounds like an odd way to go, what with Charvel's current product image (retro hotrod guitars). But yeah, it would be a cool thing for sure!

You have to give Jackson at least 10+ years to catch up to current trends.

Like the Rob Cavesty sig would have been great in the early 90's when they were getting play on MTV but now I see the market very limited for that guitar.

Y'know, I usually don't bitch too much around here, in fact I don't usually say much at all, but a couple of these ignorami pissed me off in this thread. If you don't want a 7 string, fine. Shut the F@!k up and let those of us who do play 7's enjoy the possibility of having a Charvel strathead 7 string. You know how many guitars I see on here that I don't really care for, and just move on, without bashing anybody?

Only person who can confirm is Jason from Drum City Guitar Land. E-mail him, like the thread on ss.org says. You don't have any reason to distrust a dealer who forwards an e-mail from Charvel saying a prototype is underway.. and who then asks for you to send him e-mails so we can show Charvel we want the guitar
