Possible Fake Jackson@ Ed Roman's?

I just saw a Jackson Vinnie Vincent V at Ed Roman's. It got my attention, as one is the new GOTM:

In case he pulls it from his web site (hmmm... that's happened before [img]graemlins/images/icons/tongue.gif[/img] ), I'm quoting his description directly:

"Custom Shop VV CST, Hot Pink, 1 H EmG Pickup SN 6681"

(I've also got the pic saved on my hard drive.)

And I thought the custom shop won't make VVVs anymore? Could it be possible that this is an Ed Roman fake? Simple serial # screw-up on his web page? What gives? "Inquiring minds want to know." Sully, you seem to be the resident VV expert. Any thoughts? Other folks?

Look how the silver lower horn on the Ed VV easily reaches fret # 22. Then take a look at GOTM - its gold sparkled lower horn reaches not even the front edge of the neck pu. Is this a production tolerance from the Jackson Custom Shop?

well, as far as that goes, they may not even have the original templates on them... so that in itself wouldn't be too alarming to me.

Dudes, I don't care if Ed Roman IS a fraudilent piece of **** and an asshole, I gotta admit, he's got some FARKING nice guitars, fake or otherwise...

When I asked my dealer about a Custom Shop VV, they told me "no way", so I dropped the request and bought Tim R's old one (dual hums with glow in the dark snakeskin on the face). If anyone finds out that the custom shop WILL build one, I'm in.

got me....in all reality, they're not all that hard. you're just gluin wings on there. i never got a real answer why, but i know that an order placed thru gmw for one was cancelled.
