  • Charvel help!!!!

About a month ago I bought a Charvel from my uncle, it has a Jackson non-recessed tremolo, a humbucker on the bridge, and a single coil for the middle and neck, and they are all Jackson active pickups, it's a bolt-on, 22 fret, has a locking headstock (behind the nut locking mechanism), and has Jackson tuners. The serial number is 307843. What kind of guitar is this? I paid $300 for it from him.

No, they're not. Jackson never made active pickups. They're all passive and can be used in conjunction with their active electronics. You should have the JE-1200 midboost in there.
And your guitar appears to be a Model 4.

    Welcome to the forum.

Thank you for your help, I read about the Model 4's and thought it was it, but just wanted to be sure. Also I didn't know they didn't make active pickups, it has a battery in the back so I just assumed Thanks for the introduction thoguh, I am a big fan of Jackson and Charvel guitars so I think I might like this forum

I'd say you did good. Firecrackle is a popular color. I think it could sell for $400 with case.

That was a very good deal and yep a model 4 (has shark fin inlays) made in 1988. That was the only year for that color.Passive pickups should be a J-80c in the bridge and two J-200 singles
                And active mid boost pre-amp.
Model 4's are very good guitars as are all the model series.
