Not sure about the body, but there were two different neck profiles available on Model 6s.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Thank you all for the info. Sorry, I can't take pics today. I am gonna use my roommates digital cam tomorrow to take pics.

I also noticed one thing and I was wrong. The actual body IS NOT thicker. I was deceived because the hip cutout on the back of the guitar is much more dramatic on the Soloist compared to the Model 6s.

The neck is definitely thicker. I guess I just always thought that Soloists and Model 6s were spec'ed the same but they aren't.

If the body is thick, hmmm... I wonder if you got a XL750 prototype or something (where they laminated a maple cap on top of mahogany, or something like that... ended up being 1/2" thicker).

It may be a one off kinda thing, or a refinned XL750 with a different logo?

            Not sure man.

            Detailed Pics?
The 750XL has 2 humbuckers and a set neck, wheras the model 6 has a neck through body and HSS config. Unless you meant the 650XL which is neckthrough and HSS like the Model 6.

The Charvel Model 5 and 6 had hand-shaped necks, so they vary tremendously, as do the USA Soloists. You can't make a blanket statement like "the Model 6 has a thicker neck than a Soloist" or such. I've played Model 6's with every neck shape and thickness known to mankind. Some of them were heavy (probably lots of wood filler) and some were ridiculously light. That's part of the fun of searching them out--you never know when you'll find that special import Charvel that rocks the house.

                  Sorry if I sounded harsh.

"This guitar is not a knockoff. If it is it's the most elaborate knockoff ever. The frets are worn and it has the original pickups, JT-6, serial number stamp after the 24th fret, etc."

model 6 does not have serial stamped after 24th fret? what you have there is a soloist.......

at least the model 6's I have & have seen are not stamped on the fretboard.

someone with more knowledge feel free to chime in.....

I put the XL in front of the 750 just so people would post some replys.
Yeah, that's the ticket, that's why I did it.

I had an '88 Champagne Mist Model 6 and it had the serial on the last fret.

The '86 import neckthroughs had a serial sticker on the back of the headstock under the clearcoat. From '87 on, they had the serial stamped after the 24th fret, just like Jacksons.
