hi guys,
and thanks for the welcome.
I've looked round a few threads, and this seems to be a well moderated, mostly polite forum, I'm sure I'll have no problem sticking with that.
it's now no secret that I like BC Rich as well as Charvel/Jackson ( I'm a metalhead at heart, what do you expect? )
All my 3 mock(ingbird)s have come from the states, the choice, service, and price of importing your own make it a silly thing to do to buy one in the UK.
My black Mock is my fav, all mahogany, PAF style pickups .. I wanted a LesPaul that didn't look like one, and that fits the bill perfectly.
But I've yet to own a guitar that matches the tonal variety and shredability of my model 4. A 3A or 5 with coil taps and I'd made made up.
The 'MockingVel' hybrid was an experiment that arose out of necessity .. the neck on my USA mock isn't as well as it could be, and there's a lot more 22 fret 25 1/2" scale 2 3/16" heel necks about that say 'Charvel' on than 'BC Rich', so out of curiosity I tried fitting the neck from my model 4 on it .. and bingo .. only a little sanding on the heel corners and it'd be a perfect fit. ( I know I'm way short of 90 days and 100 posts so please don't take this as a serious 'WantToBuy', but I'm in the market for a neck, scouring ebay daily etc .. if I reach 90 days and 100 posts before I get a neck, then I'll be all over the classifieds )

No-one asked, but as far as amps go, I'm not fussy. So long as it's black, says 'Marshall' and 'JCM800' on the front, and all valve, I'm happy.

Welcome! That Charvel/Mockingbird hybrid is so sweet. It reinforces my beliefs that BC Rich's would look way better with pointies.

I totally agree, it matches the body. The reverse pointy wouldn't look as good on that guitar though

You must have a pics host if you can post pics. If it's not Photobucket or Imageshack, then you must be using a private one. I did when I joined my first forum. A tunercar forum. A member offered to host my pics and he helped me along the process of how to do it. Now pics posting is easy with Photobucket, which is what I use exclusively.

I've said a couple of times on the BCR forum that you and I are very similar, and here you are!

I use photobucket for pics, it's slow, but it's free
yes, all my GTRs except the Charvel have made it into the BCR forum somewhere

What do I drive? A 2000 Fiat coupe 20V turbo and a 2003 Skoda Octavia vRS estate .. if you don't know them, I'll bore everyone with specs later
