I had read about the laminated fretboard years ago before I even joined this forum. Don't know the reasoning behind that. I have never played one of his guitars, but he gets a lot of good reviews and the guitars he is building now look pretty good. But, yeah...it only takes one moment to ruin a good reputation.

I'm around, but keep a quieter profile. Every now and then something like this about the GMW pops up and makes me laugh (and want to get on a plane....lol...).

It sounds like Jackson have done some refins in the past, but mostly back to original finish specs rather than changing the look of a guitar. Either way, if you want it original again or different there are plenty of choices (other than GMW, I wouldn't go there, ha ha) that can do you a good job.
