Yea man i totally agree with you , that guitar is way over priced for an import jackson. I don't know if its happening in the US but here in canada the price of jacksons has gone up alot in the last few months. Makes guitars like ibanez and ESP look better all the time.
What even more ridiculous is your spelling of "ridiculous".
Hey, I was gonna say that!
"Dear Dr. Bill,
I work with a woman who is about 5 feet tall and weighs close to 450 pounds and has more facial hair than ZZ Top." - Jack The Riffer
"OK, we can both have Ben..joint custody. I'll have him on the weekends. We could go out in my Cobra and give people the finger..weather permitting of course.." -Bill Z. Bub
in all seriousness though, jackson's prices have gotten crazy....just a few years ago that was the street price for a USA select. i know that jackson's were under-priced for how good they are, but still - we're talking about a USA select with a hardcase out the door in 2002 for $1299 in a solid color and $1399 in a graphic (at least at my local dealer anyway - and those weren't "hook up" prices either, those were the sticker prices on the wall!!) - now we're talking about an import for that price while the equivalent (to what i bought before) USA select is about $1799 (or more) out the door.
when i bought my holoflake, it was $1799 - and that was because i had bought a lot of USA's from this shop. my first PC-1 was $1599, my first soloist (a gun metal gray SL-1) was $1299. my blk ghost flame SL-2H was $1399. my blk ghost flame KV-2 was $1499. my trans-green SL-1 was $1599 - i could continue, but i won't...
i just think it's crazy now that an import is that much!!!
oh well. i guess they are still selling and i got good deals before, so i can just shut up!!!
GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....
i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!
Whats even funnier is how underfeatured it is for the price. No binding anywhere, plastic inlays, stencil logo, rosewood board, probably a chineese FRT-2000 floyd. Unfortunatley, aside from neck thru and floyd, the rr5/rr5fr does not have the features that somone looking to spend $1000+ guitar would be looking for.
Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...
Prices are going up because the economy has gone tits up.
*** Funny thing tho..in americas past...when the economy dumped..
prices adjusted DOWNWARD! So soon we should see a Jackson Soloist
brand new going for $1450.00 right?

I'm with you on this one. I have to admit, while all my neckthru imports play phenomenally I would never pay that for one. I had a very hard time dishing out the money for my Sam Ash archtop (and the ONLY reason I did is because It was exactly what I had been after, design wise (minus ebony, and real MOP)...................................he, he, I just checked my reciept $1049 total, and It's got binding.
It's like Rob said, underfeatured for the price.

Same scenerio here: SL1 flamed top CSB, paid 1299.00 in 2002. For me once the price creeps above $1000 I'm looking more towards USA models but, at the same It's very hard for me to justify spending what they currently want for them.
