    +1

Joe puts up with a lot of crap. Please don't make the crap pile even bigger.

Oh, and I don't like signed guitars because I have to worry about the signature. If you get one signed you should get it signed on something like the control route cover or the trem cover. Something that you can remove if you don't want it smudged/erased and you can just use a replacement cover and save the autographed one.

The issue here is not whether any of us feel the autograph was worth a lot or not, its that the original poster specifically told them to be careful with it. Obviously its important to him and they should have respected that. Since its apparently no big deal then the shop should have no problem getting George Lynch to autograph it again right? I personally don't feel autographs devalue a guitar, now whether they add value or not depends. Apparently EVH thinks so. and you think had you had Hendrix autograph a Start for you or Jimmy Page a Les Paul that it might add value? I would think so. Now Lynch does a ton of signings at clinics, NAMM, shows, etc... so its not as rare and he's not as mainstream as the others I mentioned but to us guitar players is very well respected. I say cut the original poster some slack cause most people on here would be very upset if it happened to their guitar. Sorry I can't tell you what to do about it but on top of the screw up they still charged for the setup AND tell you its no big deal. Thats bad business. A mistake is one thing, not caring about making that mistake is another.
On a lighter note, that Cartman pic you posted toejam, cracks me up Could be better if it was the hall monitor one though

roodyrocker is correct. Sorry, Joe, it's not about the autograph being cool or not, it's about instructions to a tech that were ignored. No one in any business should insult the customer whether it is a good instrument or not. That's not the issue.

Its official. Autographs are now Gay.

Gee thanks Toejam. now my brand new CS soloist with Grover Jackson's autograph on the back trem cover plate is gay. so if I get a new cover plate does that make the guitar un-gay?

I know my post is about to add zero value to the thread....but when I was in Vegas, I passed by a shop in the Basement of Bally's/Paris, and inside was full of cheap Squires signed by just about everyone. Ozzy, The Who, Metallica, fuck...there was one signed by Britney Spears....and they were all at minimum $2,000.
