I'm really diggin' the Jackson J90C that came stock in the model 2 I got. I understand that Jackson no longer makes them so what pickup out there ( seymour or dimarzio ) would be close to this one tone wise-
    Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

The J-90c is a bad ass pickup leave it in there.Tone wise an alternative would be a vintage DiMarzio super "D".Both work great in a basswood model 2.
    I have a 70's super"D" in my86 model 2 mutt and it screams.

    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

staring at that Model 2 makes my eyes go funny :P
Gear: Charvel Model 3, Marshall Reverb 30, Fender Squier Telecaster, Digitech GNX-1, GHS Boomers and a whole lot of Dunlop picks.... Oh, and a Hohner Harmonica - key of A

I am gonna leave it- I want more though. I'm looking to get a few more model 2 style guitars and I want that same tone and I don't see those p/us very often on ebay.
But thanks for the suggestion on the SD!

DJC what I do is when I go into a music store I browse a while then ask the owner do you have a box of old pickups and parts that I could go thru?
Most of the time they say yeah sure here have at it and hand you the box 90% of the stuff is worthless but 10% is really cool shit!
I bought 2 70's super"D"'s, a bunch of Floyd saddles, an old Fender vintage trem, 7 60's Gibson pots and caps all for $45.00 thats a steal in my book.Hell I got my money back and a lot more just selling the Gibson pots and caps.
The trick is go in that store often and get known as a regular and actually buy stuff like strings, picks etc and always browse play a few guitars. By all means act respectful and friendly every time and you'd be suprised what they offer you as far as deals.
Works every time for me anyway.
I'm going on a pick up hunting trip tomorrow who knows what I'll find.
