  • Jackson professional Fusion std. vs Charvel Model 4

    Hi everyone!

I'm thinking of buying a new guitar and I have my eye on two guitars...

    One is a Charvel Model 4 from '88 (?)
The other's a '94 Jackson professional Fusion std.

Both have basswood bodies, rosewood fretboards and maple necks.
Both have midboost circuits. The jackson has Hot Rail pick ups.

Both are around the same price and are in good condition.

    Which would you pick?

Well the Model 4 is a 25.5" scale and the Fusion is 24.75" scale.
Since I dislike short scale guitars, I'd take the Model 4.

I'm a Fusion fan (have 3 now) and own a few Models too, so it would be a hard choice for me. I'd have to play both guitars and let my gut choose for me. Which guitar feels better to you?
      Hail yesterday

Fusion would have 24 frets vs 22

Fusion would have a dinky body vs a strat (me thinks).

As for how they feel to me... the Fusion is very very fun to play! Amazingly thin neck, and I seem to like the lower string tension.

The Model 4 feels a bit weird in the beginning because the trem is surface mounted. I always played on recessed trems so far. But I guess you get used to this.

Can't compare sound very well since they're on different locations.

In short, still can't decide :P Maybe I should get them both :P if I had the money
