I'm hopefully getting my first Jackson today from eBay, It's only a JS30 RR, and yeah,I know stock Pick ups are crap, if I replaced stocks with EMG 81's sometime around would it still need something else upgraded btw where can I get a Rosewood Sharkie Inlaid Fretboard with Maple Neck Bolt on in the UK?

I'd think the pickups will be the only major weak point in the guitar.
Think about a set of Blackouts too.
As for the neck, your best bet is ebay, but even then you'll probably pay about the same for a neck like that as you did for the guitar!
If it means that much to you, buy an RR3 instead. The newer ones come with better pickups too.
If it's the red one listed just now, I wouldn't be paying £140 for it. I got my KE3 for £140 and that came with a hard case.Last edited by MartinBarre; 03-21-2009, 07:12 PM.

Can't afford an RR3, I've won the JS30 for £92.69/£112.69 including P&P, I'm hoping next year for when I'm allowed to have a job for a nice collection of Jacksons to save for
Thanks for the Tip aswell, Nice collection

Another Question, can I somehow get the JS modified to handle a pickguard and maybe that string thru thing the RR1T has above the pickguard right at the V pointLast edited by Mazz; 03-22-2009, 03:51 PM.Gear

I don't really see any reason why not. With the pickguard, I'd assume you can just screw one straight on there - obviously you wouldn't be routing holes in the body for the controls or anything, but you could just screw one on and put the existing knobs and switch through it - it'll need to line up with those controls though.
You should email Dave www.fretsonthenet.com he's probably done this already for someone and he's a top man.Last edited by MartinBarre; 03-27-2009, 08:08 AM.
