I also think Jackson sold for a lower price back then than they would sell now.

Since FMIC is a privately held company, I have been unable to dig up the purchase info on exactly how much they paid for J/C.
I have a good feeling it was for a lot more than Dave had readily available otherwise he could have simply outbid FMIC.

And just because one has an offer on the table, doesn't mean the offer is being considered. I seriously doubt Dave had/has the bank account to compete with the big boys.

Dave talks a lot of shit. He's bad mouthed all the previous companies. I have a copy of a Jackson article where he says the BC Rich he had with Metallica/early Megadeth was shit. If that's the case, why did HE pay good money for it? Yes, he was never an endorser yet he used it for years. I also know about a certain incident that happened on an internet chat room where Dave supposedly intervened in a suicide attempt a few years ago. Now when you read what Dave said in the press, you'd believe it. Only problem is, I know the person he was talking about. And no such thing happened. Dave always wants to be seen in a good light by using others. And therefore I don't believe he was ever involved in the Jackson sale.

if DM were to join forces with Jackson again, it wouldn't do anything for sales IMHO. I see Jackson as a more 'premium' brand, where players spending that level of money on an instrument would put their personal preference over an endorsement.
The Slipknot/BC Rich deal did, I think, about as much as it could, shifting quantities of cheapies to less experienced players who WERE more interested in an endorsement than the quality of instrument they were getting.
The idea of a GuitarHero controller is perhaps the best way to get a 'brand shape' out there and in peoples living rooms ... but can you imagine landfill sites filling up with half a million headstock points when they get broken off?

Never EVER believe a smack-head, they ALWAYS lie. (Especially when they tell you they have loads of money and will pay you back tomorrow)
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

                I nearly broke her back

Oh really? Then show me the proof you have. Post a pic of the bid form with Dave's signature that was submitted for the purchase. Or from his lawyers. Or accountant.

Got any of that documentation to prove that he actually tried to buy Jackson? No, I didn't think so. So your opinion on the matter is just as much BS as mine. Only you choose to believe the frequent douchery that drools out of DM's mouth, often to suit his own egotistical aims.

Believe it Baaay-bee!! The new face of Jackson Guitars and Metal!

I'd post pictures of their new signature guitar, but i'm at work and can't view anything that evil on the network.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

                        • I think those are pretty harsh things to say about someone who we don't even know.

I'm sure that Dave Mustaine is no different than anyone else.

Cool, then provide some evidence instead of posting anecdotes.
