I thought the final price on Big Red was $1680? Or was that the initial quote and then it got bumped up to $23xx?I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

They tried to do the "we're giving it a production serial, but we'll put whatever you want on the back of the headstock." That wasn't the deal, and really, for the sake of continuity, the serial number pattern should remain.

I would pretty much be in for almost any model JCF-YCE3. I thought the limited run guitars were great idea. The small ten run type batches were a good way to put out limited edition type custom guitars for affordable prices. I have one of the KV2X guitars from VWall guitars and it is one of the best playing guitars I have. Granted, it is not that much different from the production models (black with gun metal bevels, EMG 81 and 89, wired for 18 volts), but unique. If I were anything but a V-type guy, I would snag one of the Absythne Frost Soloists from Matt's Music - Incredible price!!! Those of you remotely interested contact MATT you will be amazed.
Anyway, bring back the limited custom runs. Isn't that what Jackson/Charvel is all about??

YCE = Yearly Collector's Edition.
The original idea was that there would be a guitar each year, and each person had the right to reserve their own serial number. So if you had #12, you had the option to keep that number for each edition in the series.

And interesting that you happen to mention the Kelly, too. For a long time now, I've been thinking of having another done along similar lines. Been going back and forth in my head on the specs for quite a while, and think I've finally gotten close to settling on them. So I just happened to pull that Kelly out of the case earlier today to put her back into the daily rotation for a spell. It is absolutely one of my own favorites. There's something very special about that guitar, magical even. Definitely one of the best the guys in the custom shop have done for me. Mike Shannon really smoked that one.
