  • to buy or not to buy

atm, i have a huge jackson fetish, but sadly , no jackson.... yet. I have a huge love for jacksons, especially vintage jacksons. The jackson i am considering has always been there, but ive never really took notice of it as it was out of my price range. It is a red 1980s jackson soloist professional HSH setup, its neck is ultra thin, ive played many guitars but this is the thinest neck ive seen, it has an ebony fret board, single volume control, awesum guitar, but.... The it has a broken and reglued headstock, across the bottom strings tuning peg, it has some chips in the paintwork. It has an original FR and the seller says that if bought, he would give it light restoration, it comes with a flight case. Originally, the seller was looking £850, im no expert but even i know it was too dear, his reason for this, was because it was gigged in a support band for twisted Sister and Judas Priest. i can get it for £500, is it really worth it?????

a Professional with H-S-H? More info is required. Is it really a Soloist (ie. is it neckthru)? If it's a Professional, it was made in Japan in the 90s, not the 80s.

So tell us, does it look like the red guitar in this link?

          Good catch. Fits the description.

If it's this guitar, that's a terrible deal.

It is a Fusion. Worth nowhere near what he is asking even if it were mint.

Fusions are good guitars, but that guys is asking crazy money for it, even at £500.

My last Fusion, I picked up for AU$385 delivered - at the current exchange rate, that's about £5

yeah man and that reglued headstock is some bullshit. i would never buy a guitar that had its headstock broken off and reglued. its firewood at that point. you can always find a guitar online man.

Not if the repair is done correctly. In most cases, the headstock is stronger after the repair.

my Fusion Plus has a reglued headstock. You can see the line right through the low E tuner. Solid as a rock. Never had a tuning trouble with it in all the years I've owned it. So as Alvin says, if it's done right, there's no problem.
