So I recently noticed that Jackson's Pro Series guitars seem to have been raised in price by $300, for example the DK2 and RR5...I looked into it as much as I could, and there don't seem to be any upgrades for the new 2009 models at all, a few stores have 2008 models left for the original price...does this have something to do with the economy? Does anyone know what's going on?

What the fuck is Jackson thinking?
Are they trying to kill the fuckin brand??
I hope that someone who works for Jackson reads this thread.I live on the edge of danger facing life and death every single day.....then I leave her at home and go disarm bombs.

Thanks to everyone who replied! And I was thinking the same as you, that it was because of the cases, but some don't seem to come with a case even with the increased price...and yeah, it's a pretty poor career move to make in a recession. Jackson has always been a little more expensive and I've been glad to pay for it, but jeez...

Even with the old prices, I thought Jacksons were expensive. Like in the $600 range, you can get more for your buck from ESP/LTD. I happen to like Jackson though, so I didn't mind paying a bit more. But damn, these new prices are crazy! Looks like I'm sticking to USED Jacksons on ebay.
Damn it, Jackson should have sold to Dave Mustaine instead of Fender, he wanted to buy the company.

Yeah Fender raised their prices across the board. Including all the brands under the Fender umbrella of brands. The increase was about 30%. Which is insane with the economy the way it is. When will companies realize you can make more profit selling more items at a lower profit margin then if you sell at a higher profit margin. Manufacturing costs couldnt have gone up 30% since last year. Come on Fender wake the f up.

We saw with his big custom guitar sale/tantrum after the Jackson thing didn't work out for him, he's all about giving other guitarists a good deal. Particularly when the guitars he is selling didn't cost him a cent.
And of course, his signature model guitars have all been so reasonably priced, no matter the brandHail yesterday
