The FIRST jackson that I remember seeing is Adrian Smith's Double neck, "joined headstock" strat/soloist, In the booklet of A Matter of life and Death, but what made me really notice Jackson was Alexi Fucking Laiho! Although, by that time he was playing his ESPees, at the beginning of Tuska live, he has his old Jackson, (most likely Roope's because Alexi's were all stolen) but it looks like he wrote ESP on it in white sharpie.
I hooked up my accelerator pedal in my car to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

wasn't he playing that same guitar in the video of Me And My Wine (or whatever that song was called - the one where the house is falling down around them as they play)? So that would be pre-Hysteria

These were my first attractions to the brands...

Charvel - Steve Vai, Dweezil Zappa, Gary Moore
Jackson - Randy Rhoads, Steve Vai, Gary Moore, Kirk Hammett, Anthrax

I bought my import Charvel Model 5 new in 1987, but I really wanted a Jackson. The Charvel was the best guitar I could afford at the time and got me as close to a soloist as I could get on my budget.

I bought my RR1T because of Randy. He is the person that made me want to learn to play guitar. Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai and Gary Moore were the ones that made me want to give it up. Now that mantle has been taken by Jeff Loomis.

Frank Aresti from Fates Warning played a silver RR1T back in the late 80's. That got me off the BC Rich bandwagon real quick !

Bought my first charvel off a guy in the navy who was transferring out and couldn't take it with him. I got his amp, stand, tuner, cables, guitar w/chain saw case for 300.00. Sold everything else for (IIRC) 150.00, making the cuitar and case purchase 150.00. The neck was truly awesome. A few months later my fellow guitarist in the band I played with bought an 88 special. Again, the neck was truly heaven. Many years later, knowing the feel of the guitar, I bought a DK2M, then my DK1's.

oo bad I sold my DK2M some time ago, and am looking to pick another one up soon.
