  • In need of an opinion...

Hey, I have a friend that has a mint 2006 RR1T in white. He bought it just to have, but now he's thinking he might want to liquidate his assets and get some other gear. I think it really has never been played. I just took a look at the other day. He wants to sell it, but I'm not sure if it'll do well on ebay or what. Whats the worth of something like that? He has the case too. And he doesn't smoke. Let me know what you think.

They're all over completed auctions, but you knew that.

I see they are $2000 on some online sites new. I think he'd love to get $1600 for it. It could definitely pass for a brand new guitar, no doubts about it. What's the rest of the world think?

Yeah, $1300 - $1400 in my opinion. I sold mine three years ago for $1100.

It's definetely a buyer's market. If he can hold onto it for a year, I would - the market may come back up again and he can get a bit closer to what it's worth.

Thanks for all the good input.

I think he is hot for a Caparison right now. Hes a Jackson nut and has quite a few from what I remember. But the only one he is looking to part with is the white RR1T. I'll fill him on what you guys think though.

If you know anyone with a Caparison Horus for trade or cheap, let me know.

                  Thanks again.

                      That serial is too low for a 2003, that's probably a 2001.

My KV2 is U10028 and was finished on 8/02/2001, so his is definitely not from 2002.

It's a buyer's market only because the skinflint bastards are looking to fuck as many sellers as they can with sob stories about the economy. The truth is, if you've got excess to spend on guitars, you can afford to pay the full price without fucking someone.

Well, if you remember that DK2 I bought the other week to put the neck onto my KE3, I paid £180 in parts for that and wanted about £200 for it on ebay. One sold for £115, and it had the DK2 neck still on it, PLUS the genuine Duncan pickups as opposed to my Duncan Designed/EMG 81 ones.

People just don't seem to be willing to pay as much for guitars as they were a few months ago, even in the UK where guitars are priced too high anyway.

(I got £200 for the DK2 in the end, so I'm well pleased).
