water damaged guitars ?

There is a pretty beat up and possibly water damaged guitar on ebay right now that Im thinking about picking up and restoring. How bad does water mess with the wood? Should I even bother ? (im willing to replace everything and refinish. But if the wood is trashed I see no reason) Can anybody help ?

The water damaged would have to be prolonged to do any real damage.

Heck most guitars that are played out get sweated on and have had beer spilled on them. a little water damage is repairable.

I didnt win, but I sort of regret that I didnt go and put a 900 dollar bid in there instead of my 850.

after a refinish, you could have a realy nice guitar going there.(I think)

Alot of times wood will return right back to where it was before when any kind of warpage happens due to water.

I know its completely off subject, but I would love a set of those tuners. They are the best idea gibson ever had!
