It's a Soloist. Watch closely and you can see it's a 24-fret neckthrough and also see the orange paint on the back of the neck. The video is from '85. The Spectrums were introduced in '89, and their predecessor, the Model 8 came out in '88. Both were designed to have a similar look to Jeff's Soloist, but they were 22-fret bolt-ons with reverse headstocks.Last edited by dg; 07-18-2009, 07:50 PM. -

That is a great song! Beck totally burns on that track.
The orange Jackson in the video came after the recording. Most likely, he used the pink "Tina Turner" soloist on that track.

DG, thanks for the soloist correction on what I thought was a spectrum. SPECTRIM's had a Reverse headstock.

question: Which model of CHARVEL is in this vid?
it's from a tour they did together tour back in the late 80's. SRV was off drugs

that's not a charvel in the video, that's the tina turner pink soloist. jeff got them in 85ish, and didn't play them that long.
