I also have one of Marty's Kellys as well as a copy of the work order for it and it is a JB. In other guitars I've installed the Dimarzio Tone Zone. The verdict is that I like them all, it just depends on the individual guitar Sometimes the common JB sounds awesome in some guitars while pretty boring in others. I have to say though, that PCS with Duncan Distortion kills! Might want to start there and if you need more bottom end go to the Tone Zone. I like the Tone Zone except for one thing which is that it seems to sound flubby on the low E string. Otherwise I think the Tone Zone is a nice distrotion pickup.
after your suggestion and others, I think I will try duncan distortion and tonezone.
I did play a lot of tonezone on ibanez, which I think crap honestly.
I should give it a chance on my jackson.

I knew that in USA, you guys can get a pickup on guitar and if you dont like it, you guys can return it.

in my country, this is impossible. forget the return service, it is still hard to get new pickup here, may be i need wait 2 months from dealer.

anyway. I heard a lof of good about J-90c and J80c. any duncan model is copying them?

    cool, thanks everyone here again.

I'm not a big fan of Jackson pickups although others here like them quite a bit. I f you can't try various pickups then the Duncan Distortion is probably a good one to start with. Chances are you'll like it and leave it in there Good luck.

There's 2 things you can do to make a JB sound better, or at least more like Megadeth:
          -Adjust the pickup's height
-Change the 500K volme pot to a 250K volume pot
Funny thing is, his active JB/Jazz pups use 100k pots and sound pretty damn good! I was surprised they don't use 25k like EMG.

The pot values are dependent on the design of preamp. EMG uses a different design than SD I'm guessing.

Duncan custom or Dimarzio Super Distortion are way to go. Or X2N if you want total destruction

Get a pair of EMG's. Then it won't matter what your RR1 is made of.

Duncan Distortion, Dimarzio Super Distortion, EMG 81 with the 18v mod these will all do what you are looking for. I personally like an 85 in the bridge with the 18V mod. The 81 sounds too trebly to me.

Oh, you "sexual intercoursing crippled intellect" ! I was wondering if anybody was gonna make a comment like this, maybe with an additional self-deprecating comment such as someone has to say it or maybe a smiley. But no, our resident "thrower" from the "Land of unattractive teeth" wilkinsi has to bumble in here after the OP has made his decision to throw in a "unable to walk" "buttocks" comment.

Now go back to the phrases in quotes and think of the heinous versions, that's what I really wanted to say!

Actually, the comment wasn't intended to be offensive, but since you interpret it that way, that's your problem.

the ToneZone will tame it's high end and give it's low end the balls your looking for.
it'll make your poplar RR1 sound more "Metal".

I just got done playing my 1995 RR1 with the OEM Bill Lawrence USA L500(XL) pickups, and for playing tight crunchy thrash ala old school Metallica, it FUCKIN' ROCKED!

I'm not a fanboy of the L500XL or Dimebag (from whoever makes it), but I must give credit where due - this pickup smokes if you are into heavy palm mutting and crunchy attack.

I would vote for the Duncan Distortion.
