No I don't think that was ever Adrian's guitar. I think Dave used that guitar quite a bit back around the time of that vid (it's from "Holy Smoke" right?). I had a calendar from then and one of the months was him playing that guitar live, it stuck out cos it was so cool.
Didn't he endorse Jackson for a wee while back around the early 90's after trying one of Adrian's guitars or am I imagining I read that?

I did an google image search and waded through oodles and oodles of pictures and came up with the following list:

- Black Fender strat, maple neck
- Black Fender strat, rosewood board, Kahler
- Sunburst Fender strat, maple neck, 70's headstock
- White Jackson strathead, Floyd, maple board, 22 frets, H-S-H, small logo
- Metallic Burgundy Jackson strathead, floyd (pictured in this thread)

- Electric Blue ESP strathead, Floyd, H-S-H
- Cream Fender (modern), pearloid pickguard, Floyd, hotrails

I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones I found.

I'm kinda thinking about getting a second Adrian Smith and having it refinished and routed for H-S-H to do a replica of the burgundy Dave Murray. Or having one of the ESPs made.

He was endorsed in the early '90s by ESP.

ok i'm ordering a strat body now from warmoth and having Daneen paint it metallic burgundy. what body material do you think that is? Poplar? Alder? something else?

I Think Dave played ESP on Seventh Son tour and then on For No Prayer for the Dying tour he was already using Jackson.

Yes it's HSH. Pickups could be custom wound Jacksons or Duncans. I read that somewhere long time ago. Maybe it was Guitar Player magazine around -89 or -90.

You'd probably be best served by Alder with a Dimarzio Super Distortion and PAF and a "whatever" single coil. My Dave Murray has these and really gets you right into his tonal range.

Dual Super Distortions is also a possibility, but watching the vids, I'm pretty sure it was a PAF in the neck, not a Super Distortion.
