Have you ever listened to Iron Maiden?

I'd say one of the most noticeable things in Maiden is the contrast in lead styles between Adrian and Dave, and the fact Dave uses the neck pickup so much while Adrian uses the bridge so much contributes HUGELY to that.

Put a DiMarzio PAF in the neck position of a strat and play a solo through it. It's hard not to sound like a cheap rip off of Dave.

He also had a Fernandes sig model back in the 80s. It was a Japan only guitar. Mustang axe slinger had one a few years ago for sale on Ebay. It had all brass hardware and a brass nut, and the Super Ds in it too. Pics on the bottom left.
