Okay, I bought a Soloist SL2H in a pawn shop about a year ago and started a thread on here with some pics. Well, I finally decided to inventory all of my gear for insurance purposes and guess what I discovered?
The serial on a USA normally looks something like this:
U 1 2 3 4 5
This one's serial, which I had never really paid attention to before, looks more like this:
U 1 2 3 4 5
That is, the numbers are closer together on the left.
EDIT: Grrrr.... It took out my spaces. Anyway, my other two USA's have the serial spread all the way across the fretboard. This one goes about halfway across.
Otherwise, it says Made in Usa on the headstock, it's neck-through, genuine Duncan pup's, and original Floyd. When I bought it, the guy said that a couple of local Guitar Center guys had stopped by and said that it's a fake. I told him that if it were a fake, then someone spent more to fake it than a real one would have cost.
If it has indeed been faked, the only thing I can think of that they would have started with is a Japanese-made SL4 from a few years ago, since it's neck-through and two humbickers.
Anyone have any insights on this? Even if it is indeed a fake, I still like it better than the Fusion I traded for it, but I would like to know.
