ESP Kamikaze Case Issues

I recently picked up an ESP Kamikaze, and although I favor Charvel/Jackson, I'm also a big George Lynch fan, and that's basically why I pulled the trigger on this one. The guitar is great, but the case is not. Although it's structurally sound, and the correct case for this model, I have trouble closing the lid on the body end. I've spoken to others who share similar stories. One ESP dealer actually recommended that I try several cases to find one that properly fits the guitar. He told me that the cases are tight-fitting anyway, and that this just seems to happen sometimes. This seems ridiculous after spending all that money on what seems like a pretty cool guitar. Anyway, I need some advice. I have already tried some of my other cases, and the Kamikaze is just too large, not to mention the reverse headstock.

Is it the floyd? Maybe just push in the padding where its pressing against the foyd to make a little more room for it?
