How fat is that neck? Is it a thin shredder or is it a baseball bat?

hey Don, it's kind of like a cross between an 80's ESP Vintage Plus and a Wolfgang, slightly rounder than a thin C..supposedly modeled after a '57 Strat neck. definitely not a PRS baseball bat, and not Kramer Nightswan shred thin...just right

Interesting. I have a MIM 50s Classic that sounds like it has the same neck shape. Not fat, but definitely not thin.

yeah Don, that's the best way I could describe it..I was hooked, again, on my Nightswan for about a week before getting the Maiden and the difference was pretty substantial, and then fiddling with an MIJ '87 Strat this morning, and the Maiden is slightly rounder than that, but fairly close..thanks again

hey thanks, yeah, I've been playing it pretty much consistently for the last few days and exploring all the tonal options from it along with the amp..it's still amazing me at every turn, killer axe!

hey thanks...yeah, I rarely ever see these, apparently produced through July-December of 2001 in limited quantities only, in Japan. I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if I ever spot one on eBay or elesewhere in good shape if you're still interested, thanks again.

Cool, I tried to get the one from Chris Guitars but failed and am very disappointed. I emailed at 10:35AM the day the page was updated with the guitar, figured I was pretty early. Tried to call him shortly thereafter but can not find his number on the website so emailed asking for his phone number. Then I looked it up on WHOIS, called and left a message. Three more emails over the weekend letting him know I was trying to buy the guitar, not a single response.

Monday the site gets updated saying the guitar was on hold for somebody else. I called and this time he answered right away whereupon I expressed my disappointment in the lack of communications. This was not the first time, once I tried to buy an amp from him and I don't recall the exact circumstances but I experienced the same level of poor communications.

Sometimes you just don't hit it off with certain people and I've decided to remove the bookmark of his site from my favorites list and try to find other people who are just easier to deal with. It's a shame because he has an interesting and diversified rotating inventory.

By the way, if anyone has a nice 2001 Iron Maiden Strat for sale drop me a line, I'll be a strong buyer for one in good condition.

yeah, as a matter of fact, I noticed the same one on Chris guitars yesterday and saw it as "on hold", I was going to post the link. I've had mixed experience with CG, but he does have a great inventory. I think the trick is to check the site constantly and upon seeing something you like, put your 15% deposit down immediately via phone call and credit card and/or PayPal..but it's a crap shoot, as you mentioned hard to get a hold of the guy at times..I think it's mainly luck, I'll keep checking around for a Maiden for ya and keep you posted, and maybe the Maiden on CG will go "OFF HOLD" as well and if you're still willing to deal with the guy, thanks

Thanks. That is a sweet guitar you have there. Enjoy. When I saw the CG ad it just struck me as something you don't see every day, looks great and just seemed like a cool axe to try out.

yeah, no doubt, I was totally shocked to see one there, and weird that it's right after I got mine and hadn't seen one for years- It's a killer guitar, and the main thing you want to make sure of is that the Seymour pups are running on 500k pots as opposed to 250k in order to get the maximum kill tone, especially from the JB jr., some were made with 250k, others 500k, strange. I'm also thinking of replacing the mirror guard with a black pearl...unless the mirror guard is immaculately clean it can look a bit smudgy and worn...I'll let you know if I find one elsewhere, thanks for the kudos.

Then it would look like the strat I recently picked up. Pretty much the same as yours except for the lack of a Floyd.

I will say it's grown on me, the black pearl on black body with maple neck.
