I have been gassing for a EVH wolfgang but since I don't have that much right now I was thinking of getting a Peavy. So I was just wanted a little info on these before I buy one. I have played one of the arch tops and they played great.

ihad a peavey wolfgang. it was a very comfortable, great playing guitar. it was a USA archtop with the TOM bridge. what killed it for me was the lack of pickups rings - i anchor my pinky on the bridge pickup ring. i ended up trading for an ESP mirage, but the peavey was a fine guitar!!!GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....
i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

Ive had 2 Peavey Wolfgangs. I still have one of them I sold my Standard several years back to pay bills. then came across a USA Special for stupid cheap. Both are great guitars but the Special sounds warmer then the STD. You should be able to find a good used one for about 800 USD. They arent holding their value nearly as well as the Musicman EVHII.
BTW the Musicman Sterling series AX40 (basically an over sees Axis w/floyd) is a great little guitar for 550. We just got one in at my work and i played it for a bit at lunch. It feels just like my wolfgang and the pups are very responsive. The trem is pretty decent too. The top however is probably a veneer but it is a real quilt top. So it should sound pretty darn close to a wolfgang specail.
