  • Any Peavey Vandenberg fans here?

I've been meaning to check one of these out and never have. Any one here own one? Pros, cons, opinions? I had never heard of a Kahler Spyder tremolo before until seeing the specs of the Vandys. If anyone has info./opinions re:these guitars feel free to post pics and/or chime in!

I beat on one of the bolties at a guitar show a year ago. The neck thru version is the one to look for.

I have had two Custom Quilts (the neck through) and they are both phenomenal. Short scale (24 3/4"), 1 5/8" nut width, good quality wood.

The *only* problem with the Spyder trem is that parts are hard to come by, especially for a gold plated one like the Vandys have. You can get them from Kahler, but they're pricey. I'm still looking for a new trem arm for mine, because I refuse to pay $30 for a whammy bar.

Other than that, the Spyder is a good, solid trem. I can't speak to the rest, but the Vandenberg Custom Quilts are great guitars. Here's a crappy cellphone shot of mine:
