  • Carvin Price Check

    Hi,
As a long time Aussie Carvin fan it was good to see that Carvin recently opened up their website for international orders.

I'm hoping that one of you guys in the USA could do me a favour and check Carvin site for the base price of the DC125 and V220 for US customers?

From what I have read on a few forums I think the price they are charging international customers is way above the US prices but the Carvin site set up so I can only get in by selecting my country as Australia so I can't check for sure.

If the price is a lot less for US customers then it would be worth getting a friend in the US to order for me.

    Thanks,
    Peter.

Here's what the Carvin site says for DC125...

    DIRECT: $879.00
    SALE: $729.00

    V220...
    LIST PRICE: $1,999.00
    DIRECT: $949.00
    SALE: $799.00

Consider that the price difference might involve the expensive shipping to Australia, though indeed they might also be charging a premium. I'm interested to know what they're charging you for those guitars, now that you mention it.

Apparently, they are charging the Japanese more as well...

        JPY PRICE: 118,450
        US PRICE: $1,313.00

        V220
        JPY PRICE: 152,551
        US PRICE: $1,691.00

Thanks guys - the price shown above for Japan is the same as what they list for Australia
          US$1,313 for a DC125 and US$1,681 for the V220.

I'd like to know why they are charging international customers double the normal USA prices? Shipping is not included in these prices and the only extra cost for Carvin would be a few minutes of someones time to fill out the customs form.

Looks like if I want a Carvin I'll have to get a friend in the US to order it for me.

If you can get someone to ship you a USED mint Carvin...do! For some
reason, they do NOT hold their resale value. 1/2 price at best.
Why? Dont know, they are as nice as anything out there... great guitars!
