  • RG350DX...thoughts?

Hi all. My gf bought me an Ibanez RG350DX as a gift...I have yet to check it out. She paid next to nothing for it, so I'm not expecting much.

Never having played an Ibanez, I was wondering what the consensus was on these. Are they any good? Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance...and happy holidays.

    Not bad for the money.
    I've had two.
    Necks are pretty nice actually.
I upgraded the pickups in both, but after that, they were pretty nice!
I could do without the lightning inlays, but that's not a biggie.

I had one, never made friends with it. Not a bad guitar...just not me I guess. I sold mine about 3 months after I bought it. Can't really pin down the reason, it just wasn't what I was looking for I guess.

Thanks. I'm partial to the charvels, but she paid barely over a bill for it and its like new, not a mark on it. I've felt the necks and they do feel pretty good. I'll just have to see how it plays and sounds soon.

        Thanks again.

Get it set up and it should be a very good entry level guitar for the money - this doesn't mean "extremely cheap but crap", it means that it is actually a good instrument! Might want to drop in some decent pickups too.

Had one a few years ago...not bad at all. And at around $100, it's a steal. Just drop some different pickups in it and you'll be fine.

Thanks guys. It feels and sounds pretty good, but could use a setup and fret dressing.

I'm a big fan of the old Ibanez V series pickups
Keep your eyes out for them
Perfect drop-in replacements, whilst keeping the Ibby vibe

I had one - nice, but the trem was a little soft. It wouldn't stay in tune for anything.
