shitty name
shitty colors
shitty headstock
shitty obfuscation about where they're made
shitty business plan to think people will pay $1000 for a chinese made no-name guitar
Charvel promods OWN these things, it's not even close.the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

plus it's funny how all the detractors on the Suhr forum are apparently dedicated human rights activists who care so much about the chinese/child labor, blah, blah, blah. reading some of those self-righteous idealistic posts make me want to puke. bunch of pollyannas.
the posts there about the outsourcing and hurting the US economy were accurate.
these guitars suck, but for most people who are turned off, it will be for the reasons I posted above.the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Sorry to resurrect a "dead" or "dying" thread, but I thought I should put in my input.
I've never checked out Suhr, but I played one guitar, and it was magnificent.
I think for the price we'd be paying for a Rastamus, or whatever lame name they had, we should be getting something at LEAST made in Japan, or even Korea, where we know the guitars are high quality. Whenever I think of a guitar being made in China, I think of a beginner guitar you can pick up at Walmart, while buying juice and eggs. Or an Epiphone/Squire(?), but we're not paying a grand for those.
I'm mainly thinking the quality>outsourcing. I'd be weary buying a guitar from China, knowing 1. What products come from there (Hot Wheels, everything you buy in Dollarama, (which break in a month anyways )), 2. Us North Americans losing jobs, and 3. The sweat shop workers.

Direct sales make a HUGE difference. No middleman means you don't get their inflated pricing.Dreaded Silence - Boston Melancholic Metal

I've never played one, but from what I've read they were really nice guitars. Apparently, Suhr was spending too much time/money getting them up to their high level of quality, so they bowed out. I'm not sure how overall sales factored into the equation.

Esp when these were supposed to be from the "best" Chinese factory in the country.Build a man a fire and he's warm for a day, set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life.

These have had very good reviews in the UK...especially the GG Rasmus when it came out. The MIC bit doesn't bother me but the pricing does: A Rasmus GG is £999 while a USA Modern in natural goes for £1600...only as crazy fool would go the Rasmus
