I am not surprised the Rasmus like is discontinued. Fortunately we are seeing new Pro Series models like the Modern Satin. And from the ones I have played, they are mighty fine guitars.

I'm not surprised the Rasmus line was discontinued. The business model was iffy: send the wood over to China, have them cut & assemble the guitar over there, then have the USA shop completely redo everything so it's playable. With all that, I'm not surprised they were so expensive for Chinese guitar.

IIRC, Schecter did a similar thing with the early Diamond Series guitars--the frets got a nice going-over at the USA shop, which is why they played well. I don't believe that's been the case for a number of years, but the higher end import Schecters are still Korean and have better quality than the early ones did, since the Koreans have come a long ways in their guitar building.

I wouldn't mind picking up a Rasmus Modern on close-out. The Guthries are getting hard to find.
