  • New Retro Schenker Dean

I guess Dean doesn't have any gentlemen's agreements or give a shit about Gibson's designs. I kind of understand ESP's ability to get away with stealing other peoples designs since they are not an American company and don't really have to follow our laws, but Dean is in Tampa Florida.

Anyway...Looks nice except for the fugly headstock.

Looks interesting. Just not a fan of the Dean Headstocks.

i heard that both gibson and fender lost their lawsuits on trademarked guitar shapes. fender with the strat and gibson with the single cutaway lp shape. if that's true, what dean is doing is perfectly legal.

Leo Fender himself tried to patent the Strat shape, didn't he? Like last year and lost or something?

I saw those for like $299 when I was given the mission to find a cheapish guitar for a friend. Wonder how they play.

It kind of looks like a smaller version of the guitar at the end of the neck...

If you held one pointing at a camera with the right perspective it would look like 2 v's fighting over one neck.

                Leo's been dead for years.

That guitar looks stubby as hell.

I think someone was trying to chase him down in an epsiode of Ghost Hunters recently.

Don't care for the looks of this one. The original Gibson was the shit.
The Rick Emmett V is a classy axe though.

I actually like it more than the usual Dean Flying V. V-plates ruin any guitar. Still needs a regular headstock

I'm not a big fan of the Dean headstock or the Gibson V, but i like this. The color and pickguard make it work for me.

                          that's the bad headstock effect.

I like the dean spilt headstock especially on the eighties models, like the rik emmett model baby z. that headstock design pretty much is a gibson headstock copied from the moderne and early explorer.
