  • WoodCut Relic Finish: New From Mike Learn

This is another experimental new finish that Mike has developed. Based on the old "woodcarving" techniques, this 3D relic-ed finish is as unique as it is flexible. Design possibilities are endless.

Instruments must be stripped to bare wood in order to utilize this technique. Pricing will vary, so you will have to have a consultation with Mike for an idea on cost.

Let us know what you think!

I did this... very crudely to an old Kramer I had years ago... it didn't come out very well.

Mike's version is a step up from that! Very cool!

I think that would look killer on a vintage looking tele.

Merle Haggard needs one of those.

That's exactly the kind of guitar I almost had this finish done on. Heck, I still might but I'll need to get a new body.

That looks like something out of a rockin' Indiana Jones movie.

Thanks bro. I appreciate it. My goal is to make custom finishes affordable to everyone.
We will be running a warbird special in the near future. Hoping to get some of the new production Charvels a face lift with some paint.

Thanks Joe! Glad you dug it. Alot of the finishes I have been working on really have no airbrushing on them, but offer something different.

I'm think I might want my old black Hamer done like that. It is a little beat up already. I love the checkerboard skull pattern you did on my Kramer Explorer, so maybe something similar to that!

Whats the best site/way to contact Mike about getting a guitar done? I really like what daneen did for me but i don't think she truely understood what i was going for. And I can always used another guitar when tax refund gets here. This is a little bit of dreaming at the moment, but it be nice to know where to go when the funds are there and I can't talk myself out of it (as i keep tending to do)
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil
