These were a little more straty with a pseudo strat hs. I like em.

Shit, I'd rock that. Like mentioned, throw new pick ups and a new bridge and it would be killer. Put some Bareknuckle's in there!

In this case, Steve wanted more treble on the bass strings. It also made the higher notes less "shrill." There aren't many guitars that have this configuration.

here is my SS40



I have not seen any other SS40 with the non painted headstock besides mine.
It's a cool guitar. I love the fat flat neck. I do not use the floyd and I removed the stock pickups and just Put this Dimarzio Breed in the bridge. The pickup cavity in the bridge was so small I had to do some work to open it up a bit to fit the pickup. I think I paid $280ish for mine about a year ago.
