  • Any Robin Medley owners?

I've got a '92 Usa Robin Medley VI. Plays and sounds awesome. Any other owners on here? I've got a couple charvel customs a '79 Les Paul custom john sykes would be proud of and a trio of Ibanez Rg517's, the bass boat sparkle ones. I like the Robin as much as my charvels easily.

    Anyone got one?

hell yeah...Robin Medley's are killer..I have a '92, body was made from White Korina, African Limba, I contacted Robin about this and they said it was most likely a custom order. has the Kahler Steeler trem as well which is a phenomenal system, with hum & slanted single..Great guitars!

hey thanks..yeah, Robin is a small company out of Houston Texas, they've been around in the USA since around the mid to late 80's, doing alot of custom orders and having their own line.. before that they were doing stuff out of Japan. They consistently maintain very high quality standards, check 'em out- http://www.robinguitars.com/index.html

Holy shitballs the gold and the natural totally rule dude! I always check ebay for robins and would love to have one one day. Especially like the slat single neck pickup.

No idea of the year or anything. I just like playing it.

I've owned three Robins: one from each of the eras. They were all excellent guitars. I'll see if I can track down some pics.

I had one of the Japanese/ESP ones for years and years as my main guitar. It had a Kahler Pro trem and a pair of humbuckers of unknown origin. It sounded great and played like a dream. I trade a Gibson Explorer for it and never regretted the trade, except for value later.

I had an early USA made on that someone had stripped the body down on. It played and sounded great, but was a bit of an eyesore. It's layout was similar to the clear coated one above.

I also had an early Tokai built one that someone had retrofitted an original Floyd on, and added a neck single coil. It had old, old Bill Lawrence pickups in it. It was a cool guitar too, but definitely more of a vintage vibe/feel than either of the others. I also assumed that Robin, as a new company at the time, must have been saddled with more standard Tokai production design with it than the others.

I used to play with a baseplayer with a Robin bass too. I always thought Robins were a very undervalued, under appreciated guitar.
