Newc - The Strat body is NOT trademarked nor legally protected, like the Strat headstock. FMIC attempted to do this a couple of years ago, and it was totally rejected in court decisions. So there are no licensing fees for using it, nor legal protections preventing it from being copied. It's "in the public domain", if you will.
