  • Rand Havener's bolt-on Proto

Here I have one of Rand Haveners first guitars he ever made. Very nice guitar -- He was thinking of doing bolt-ons before going the custom route 27 fretters which he was known for.

Looks like he was slightly influenced by Kramer.

Yeah, I was gonna say, it looks vaguely reminiscent of something I have seen before ... a lot. Still a good looking axe though. Cool piece to own.

Yeah, very similar to the kramer barettas. The flame maple/birdseye neck is amazing -- and feels amazing.

Darren, if you haven't already, check out the old Rand threads for pics & stories of his later work. I also have a Rand proto, it's one (if not the only) V he made!

Very cool! I'm well aware of Rand's history newer stuff. I tried to barter one of Rupe's rands a couple times with no luck.

Post some pics of that V when you get a chance. I would like to see it. Exciting times for the Rand company as well, being that he is starting up again.
