  • NGD: BC Rich Gunslinger Retro Yellow

Hello everyone, I'm the new owner of a BC Rich Gunslinger Retro Yellow.

I've done some pics for all of you:

My digital cam isn't the best, depending on the angle/luminosity, the yellow color varies a lil' bit.

Guitar plays great and I really dig the Floyd (lotsa travel, dive and pulling) except for the fine tuners on it that feel kinda cheap. Setup is OK and will play it a lil' while like this and will eventualy get it properly setup by a local tech I know.

Fit and finish is good but there is a few very minor paint flaws here and there. I've seen worst. At least, the whole body paint is done very even, you don't see any lines into the finish.

I really dig the neck on this guitar. Feels a lil' bit like the Ibanez Wizzard II I have on my RG350M Yellow. I also like the satin finish on it.

Can not comment on the Dimarzio pickup as I only have my Boss Micro BR at the moment to try out the guitar. But it feels very high output. The guitar is loud unplugged. Can't wait to try it out into my Marshall DSL50 half stack.

I'm quite happy with this new guitar. I wanted badly and was going to get one of those new Charvel USA, but for less than half the price, i got that Gunslinger. Sorry, I could not resist... I know it's a J/C forum here... But I like the simplicity of a one humbucker guitar!

Now if i add the dough for a green one!!!

Lucky you got the one with the Dimarzio instead of the new ones with rockfields. I have little experience with Rockfields, but hey Dimarzios are more appropriate for this guitar. Looks good, enjoy her!

Looks cool! Definitely has that late '80's vibe in spades.
Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

Thanks guys. I haven't played it as much as I would like but the more I play it, the more I like... Lotsa probabilities that it will become my main axe! I really like the "simplicity" of it.

              To be continued!

Congrats. Those always seem to catch my eye but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

same here...my problem is that I like the yellow and the green, but I want the H/S set up that only comes in red, of which I'm not that big a fan.

The Dimarzio Super Distortion is a very hot pickup. Got lots of "zing". Just got one fitted in one of my Warriors.

Grab a used one and have it refinned. I've thought about doing that with a yellow one on several occasions but just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I had the retro blade (the same but with a neck pickup). Awesome guitars and sound great for shred.

My only gripe which made me sell it was the super slim neck. Perfect for those who like thin necks, but thin necks cramp up my hand.
